I wouldn't pay any more than $3500.

Lotsa yellow Cub Low Boys & 140's were made for park work, mowing & the like here in SD. Sold by local IH dealers on state, county or city bids. Lotsa them still used for that around here-don't see 'em sell often, so can't help much on cost. Sounds like you found a nice one. Whats it go for in your area? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Looking at $ 3,500 tractors here are high, if they run and look good even higer. Many people moving to the country from Columbus Ohio area.I have about 11 acres 4 of which get a regular trim the rest of the property is wooded. This tractor has one neat built in feature, the guy that is selling it lives across the street and works on tractors, like having a built in mechanic. Al

Sounds like a good deal to me. If you price that air-cooled "junk" they sell @ Wahl-Mart w/60" deck, you'll probably have more $ than that in something that will last only a couple of years, mowing 4A all the time. You'll never wear out the 140 in the same time. You'll have a LOT more tractor as well. When I was in college in the mid-60's, I worked @ a state park-mowed lots & lots of grass w/140 like you describe. That park is still using it. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
