Hey guys Ive been having trouble with rust clogging my fuel filter on my 48 H. I pulled the tank and have shaken a CLEAN log chain around inside. this seemed to work well enough to clean it up. someone told me to mix fiberglass resin and coat the inside of the tank!? Has anyone else done this? I would think the gas would break this down over time. Is there a real tank sealant available out there? As always thanks a ton for your help-Dan M Amsterdam Mo.

I attached H tasnk to my cement mixer for several hours , sharp rocks and sharp sand tottally polished the insides.
Previous I had tried a epoxy mixture NO GOOG flakes off with time. I am going to wash my tank with TSP then Naval Jelly , after drying out I an using Marvel mystery oil to seal

Kreme for motor cycles does the job and lasts.

Yes, there is a sealer made just for fuel tanks. You have to clean the tank real good, then use a cleaner/etching solution, then the coating material. You have to take the tank off the tractor so you can turn it every which way you can to coat the entire inside surface.
I did it on a tank about 5 years ago and it's still holding OK. It comes as a kit from many places such as Restoration Supply, Eastwoods, motorcycle shops and others. I think it's a good product, but follow the directions closely for best results.

I've thought about those sealers for one of my H's tank, but how to get sealer into the part of the tank past the baffle has "baffled" me. My baffle looks to be only about 1/8" from the bottom of the tank. I got a new sediment bulb bracket for mine. It has a longer stem that screws further up into the tank so sediment stays in the tank. Haven't had a problem since then, but then I clean the bulb as soon as it shows any sediment, too. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

check with a radiator shop to see what they use. One in town has done four tanks for me, but don't know what it is called (it's green).
