I keep looking for an oil gauge and find a bunch of universal ones. What psi should I be looking for? Can I find a more original one ?

All of the Temp guages at C&G are NOS. Even the 18" lead one!!!!! NONE of our guages have a cheap plastic lens or housing, like some other places sell as "approved reproductions"?????. Hope to soon have some Hyd Touch Control Temp guages, if my bid was high enough on the closeout auction.

i hope I didn't offend anyone, NOS is NOS and that is ultimately what we would all like to have... We do have to realize that our options are limited as to the availability of correct guages.. I only hope that as far as the IHC marked guages are concerned, that someone would produce the correct style of lettering.. I would also like to have them go as far as to reproduce the 43978D oil guage.. (it only slightly differs from the DB in the fact that the script is slightly different in size, and the color zone is half as wide) I would glaly donate mine to the attempt to make one that is correct.. I hate to say it, but if we want things done right, we really need to be picky as to what we buy..

Sounds like your as picky as I am. The bad thing is that some of these outfits advertise this stuff as being correct and you don't find out it isn't until you pay them and it comes. Then if they will take it back, you still have to pay shipping both ways. I need oil and temp gauges For F-series tractors. None of the oil pressure guages being reproduced are correct for the F-20 and F-30 that I know of. They are not the same as the F-12, A and B take. It is only a 2lb guage.
I have seen someone advertising a guage that fits
F12 F-14, F-20 and F-30. It may fit an F-20 and F-30 but it wont read anything because they carry
very little (2lbs) of oil pressure. They are a semi-splash lube system. Ken, you said a while back that the OEM was coming out with correct gauges for the F-series.
Any word on that yet? Also let's not get confusing here, You did mean the company that built the originals, not OEM Tractor Parts of bloomington IL., is that correct?

The guages are a pretty tough subject at the moment.. Here is some info about the guages that are currently on the market..

Antique guages-- plastic face, they don't look right (not produced to scale or right position), plastic indicator, the oil guage is not the right pressure and needs an adapter, they really just don't look right..

OEM guages (out of bloomington IL) -- I think these are the same one that C&G sell.. These are a nice guage.. they have a glass face, look right with the exception of the IHC marked guage.. What OEM did on the IHC guage, was they just took an IH guage and put a C around the IH.. if you know what the original looks like you will understand that this isn't original, because the IHC is in one solid script(I will post what one should look like if anyone is interested)

I really don't know what Case IH sells, but the last time I checked they only made the IH style guages that were used on maybe the 400/450 series on up?? I am not sure, but someone could probably tell that story better..

I guess if you need the IH guages you should use the OEM guages, but as far as IHC guages are concerned I would suggest using a NOS or good used IHC oil guage (I do have 1 NOS IHC oil guage remaining) and suffer with the Antique Guages temperature guage.. ( have no idea why I can ususally find the F series temp guage that is NOS, but finding one for the letter series is near impossible..) just my 2 cents..

Check with Ken Updike. He was working on a replica colored gauge earlier in the year. 608-455-2411

If you go with a numbered gauge, you will want 0-75 psi. If you have a strong oil pump, it can put out 60 when cold.
