My I-544 gas finially is running. When I put it in gear it moved 4 feet and stalled. I could not restart it. What is the trick to getting the C200 gas engin to restart after it stalls (possibly flooded). I tried varing the choke position and gas lever.

Also gas is dumping out the carb thru the air cleaner hose when trying to start. Is this normal? My mechanic said it is when the carb fuel bowls are first filling, but this happones everytime I try to start it.

I do not have a fuel shut off solenoid. I just have a screw where it would have been.

As a rule I think IH added the solinoid when they used a fuel pump, just thought of this so im prolly wrong.

My mechanic just looked at the float yesterday and said it was ok. How do you check for a bad float or this just an adjustment?

Your float must be stuck. If it has sat a long time it can sure happen. I have a combine that is stuck just about every year. Good luck!

You have noticed the cylinder device that screws into the fuel bown and has a wire on it? When those go bad you get fuel proablems like you describe, changed ours just this spring. This motor seems kinda cold blooded so I usually start it and let warm a couple of minuets before use. farmer kev

I believe it's called a fuel shutoff solinoide. Your float or float valve may have proablems too. Two years ago the throttle shaft broke and that was fun tryin to drive it home.

Sound like a float problem

Yup...your float doesn't float! Been there did that just recently on a JD MT.
