I have a I-544 gas with a gear drive and T/A. With the clutch in as I change gears, the trator will jump slightly as I place the tractor in gear (Clutch remains in). This does not happon evertime. Is this normal with a gear drive. After the slight jump it remains still till I release the clutch.

Is it a lot of work to adjust the clutch?

Who ever said owning a tractor was easy. Better to adjust clutch than pay the repair bills.

That is not normal With the clutch held out put it in gear move a little then take it out of gear but still hold the clutch out and wait a little and put back in gear and see if gears grind if the do you will have to adlust clutch or clutch could be haning up. Once gears have been stool turnning they should stay stoped.
