Just had head and valve job done . Cam is good. All cylinders are firing, but the #4 cylinder is popping back through the carbureator. Could this be the timing? If so, how do we time one of these tractors? This tractor has the magneta instead of a distributor.
Would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks. E mail me at my personal email, please. cturner1@kih.net.

I have tried changing the plug wires. We had the head cleaned and the valves seated, but it is still 'popping' out the carbureator. If I take the back or #4 plug wire off it doesn't pop. Nothing else I tried makes it stop. Any more suggestions?

Brian gave you a good start. If by chance this won't work, recheck your tappet clearance.#4 intake may not be seating. It is a good idea to set the valves .002 over the hot setting and then resetting them hot once you have run the engine a while to let things settle in.

Well I don't know how you figure it's #4 cylinder, but mine did the same thing and it turned out that I had 2&3 reversed. The rotor turned the opposite direction than what I thought it did, and therefore the order was slightly off.

My thoughts.
