What's the scoop on the BN and are they desired by collectors of Farmall's?

What is the "rarest" Farmall tractor or the one that people lust after becuase of something unique or rare. ??

From what I understand, compaired to the other models in the letter seires, it is rare. Now does that make it rare in general terms, well, probably not. Still, a very neat little tractor, one that should be held on to.

My understanding is that about 15,000 BN's were made. Not rare at all in my opinion.
There are some models and varients that were made in much smaller numbers.
I suggest you obtain Guy Fay's "International Harvester Tractor Data Book" It is a wealth of information on serial numbers, models, years of manufacture, numbers produced etc. A bookstore or a site like Amazon should be able to order it for you.

I have to tell you I carry that book with me everywhere I go and it is the most knowledgeable work of academic pursuit for Farmall tractors I have ever red. I take it everyhwere and I read it and study the pictures I found it at a local bookstore and I promptly went up to the counter and showed it to the clerk and said this is the best book about Farmall tractors yet! I have been itching to ask her out and I thought this would break the ice. But I must say I'm not a chick magnet and the book didn't grab her either. I guess I'll have to find another reason to buy a book and go up there to talk to her. But it won't be a tractor book and I dont tihnk she likes tractors. either. Now if that isn't a sure sign for a normal wife than what is? I guess driving down her street on my restored Farmall H wont impress her either. But if all else fails I'm going to do it. I'm going to drive right down there, knock on the front door and ask her if she would ride with me and my H to the ice cream store about a mile away. I think I'll leave the book at home and show more interest in her than the book. its a good book. I definitely will not drag her by her hair, but I will pick her up and carry her to my tractor and make her sit with me to the ice cream store. I hope she will appreciate my interest in her and my H.

Never give up hope, Scott, lol. I too am waiting for the proper tractor-friendly member of the female tribe to stumble into my path. It may take another 27 years to find her, but I refuse to settle for a woman that isn't into tractors, lol. Of course, when I do find her, she'll be taken out on the proper color of tractor - JD green. Just kidding - the red ones are great, too. Good luck with the pursuit of the bookstore clerk. Hey, I just thought of something - go into the bookstore and ask her if they have any books on male sensitivity, how to treat women, etc. That might throw her off guard long enough for you to get her on the H. Then she'll probably see the light and decide that tractors are okay - especially if none of her friends have ever dated on tractors. She might go for it just to be different :)
