The treads on my main fuel jet assembly are stripped going into my carb (544 tractor gas). Now the whole brass assembly is loose and leaks gas. What can I use to seal this up??

I was thinking about using epoxy gas tank repair materail. I know this will make it hard to remove this fitting, but I do not know what else to use. Any help would be greatly appreschated,

Gramps, If all else fails and you can't re-thread it use JB Weld ( it's a 2 part epoxy) Good luck I swear by that stuff

3 different carb styles on 544, 2 had screen/elbow fittings that were pipe threads, 1 on hydrostatic drive was straight threads on brass fitting that had a sealing fibre washer.

I have a stright thread brass fitting. Mine is a gear drive.

I have read that you can use JB weld with silcone on the treads to repair the stripped treads. I will give it a try. Thanks for the responses.
