I am assuming a fella has to go to a machine shop to press out the old pto shaft seal? There are apparently two lodged in my housing and they will not come out. Which way do they pull out? With the housing on can you pull them out or must you take off the housing and press them to the inside?

I took the housing off and then removed the old seal. You don't need to take it to a machine shop as it isn't that hard to do. The original seal and the new seal don't look anything alike but the new one will fit just fine.
