I found an International I-4 with original 40 inch cast centers covered by solid rubber tires. Is this an oddity because of the 40 inch rims? Are these sought after? Any info would be appreciated...AC

This being an industral model it was probably ordered without pnuematic tires as was used in an area where they didnt want flat tires because of the trash on the floor. Same way even now fork-trucks are used some with solid and some with air. Lots were that way as i have seen pics in factories they had the solid treads.

I agree with Gene in that the tractor would have been ordered without wheels from IHC and some specility company made the solid wheels and tires for it. I have seen pictures but have no information showing solid rubber as an option on any IHC industrial tractor. A lot of the shop mules used solid rubber.

You could get solid rubber tires, front and back, from the factory. They are in the parts book.

Really! Only seen them on pneumatics. Do you know the year (or serial#). Curious if it was a war year. Dave

War years had nothing to do with the solid type wheels. This was started back like in the 30's or so. There are pics in the 150yrs of I-H of these.

Are these considered rare?
