I picked up a 43 M the other day and finally got around to working on it. It has a Fairbanks Morse type FM Magnito. I wasnt getting any spark so I took it apart and noticed that points were not breaking. Can someone please tell me the points gap for this machine. Thanks

Set that breaker gap at 0.013 and that should do it. That's were you set them on an IH H4 magneto. That Fairbanks Morse should use about the same setting. Goodluck with her Jonesy.

DrawBar, Thanks a bunch! Went right out last night set the points and put it on in the cold 30 mph North wind ,and would you belive it, she fired right up like she was brand new. Then I was able to drive it into the shop. I the Fairbanks the correct mag for this tractor? Or should it have an IH H4?

If I understand correctly the IH H4 is the original from the factory. The Fairbanks is a replacment for the original,(Its just not an IH part.) Id Leave that rascal on the tractor and run with it. Perhaps some one else has a different opinion, but I'm glad to hear you got her in out of the cold.

Have a 1950 "C" w/ H4 mark and a 6 volt coil on top.Don't know if it is a distributor or magnito? Bought rotor and cap for distributor and they did not fit. Please help.
