We were just getting ready to leave our 5th hour class today and our principle came on the intercom and told us to stay in our rooms. This doesn't happen everyday at a small town high school. They wouldn't tell us what was going on. Well, after about 15 minutes we were smart enough to figure out what was happening. Some one had called a bomb in. We knew this was what it was because law enforcement officers and fire fighters. After an hour of searching they let us resume classes. They said they found nothing. Just heard that two bombs were found in pringles chip cans in lockers. This is just the highlights. I can't imagine doing somthing like this. You have to be pretty messed up to want to hurt and kill people like this. We are lucky no one got hurt. I know this is off topic but i just wanted to share. Adam

We had a less servere incident like that out our school back on the 1st anniversery of 9-11.

Our school is about 200 feet from the town's water tower and before school had started that fall, a company came in and put a 140 feet tall tarp around it in order to sandblast the lead based paint off of it and keep the dust out of the air. On 9-11 of 2002, a strong wind picked up and started tearing pieces of the tarp off the tower while they were sandblasting. Several minutes later, security guards started telling all the teachers to shut their windows. Since it was the day it was, everyone in the school went into a state of panic thinking we were having a biological attack, when really they were just worried about the students breathing in a little lead paint from the nearby sandblasting... For a lot of people, it was a stressful day, but it was kind of funny when you think about it...

I am a firefighter in a small town in NE Iowa. Just a volenteer, and by no means a spotlight war hero. Approx 2 months ago we were informed that more than likley the kids will stay in the school in case of a bomb threat. I was upset to say the least finding out that in case a fireman orders evacuation before 1:30 the school could indeed sue the fire department----- -because the state of Iowa may not reimberse the school for daily expences if they are released before 1:30. After a talk with my mouth going 90 MPH I do not think they will keep my 12 year old in the school house in such a case. ---Or the bomb will be the least of their worries. Before someone unloads on me, Yes he could be shot like in Colorado, but if a bomb goes off in a school it will take far more lives. The proticall in some schools is a lock down, a password comes over the intercom, and the teachers look for something out of place. ( Our school has a suspended ceiling in the entire building) Makes me wonder, We have so many days off school for ball games, teachers in service, snow sports, nature walks, & honoring some folks who are not even presidents. Now I also wonder? Why do these people in other countries hate our government? Our government is made up of real smart ones who know best. Sorry for shooting my mouth off--- but few people are aware of this crap.

Just remember, the government is made up of people who have money as their god, no matter how well they talk about church. Everything in politics revolves around money, from small towns up to the president. The current war threat is not about missles that cannot get here, it is about oil. Oil=money. The old joke about politicians is not so funny these days: "How can you tell when a politician is lieing? If his mouth is moving, he's lieing."

Makes a person sick to think money overrules the safety of our children. Thanks to all who are willing to be a volunteer fireman. Enjoy your weekend from northern Minnesota and take care of yourself.
