mostly you can expect to have a lot handier tractor, but to stave off future problems it would be wise to go thru the unit you are going to use to replace the seals and check the clutch facings. my 1486 already had the two speed unit in it when i bought it

There are 2 different dual speed ptos. The late style is with a hyd.shut off and you can turn pto shafts by hand if you need to turn the shaft to line up splines. The other{older style} has spring brakes that are in contact at all times and hard to turn pto by hand.

One other thing-You adjust the hydraulic oressure for the PTO according to the horsepower of the tractor if I recall correctly. You screw the on/off rod that goes into the top of the PTO in or out to increase or reduce the pressure. A little from the big boys (not me) always start the PTO at idle so that it doesn't burn your clutches or tear up something. When it's fully engaged, bring the engine up to operating RPM.
