Just wondering..I know the hydraulics will not lift much but was there a heavier set of lift arms for use with a plow rather than the ones used with the cultivators? Has anyone used a two bottom three point plow or disk with a 140 or Super A. Any problems lifting it? Thanks in advance.

Not quite sure what you are refering to as cultivator lift arms If it is the fast hitch, that hitch is far superior to 3 point on small tractors, and will lift substancially more than a 3 point on a SA through 140. I have 3 of these tractors and have implements weighing up to 600 lbs and lift them quite ok. The main reason Fast hitch will lift more is you can get the weight closer to the tractor than you can with 3 point.

Thanks Hugh. By cultivator lift arms I am referring to the clossbar that bolts to the fenders to lift the rear cultivators. It does not have a one point hitch so was thinking of adding an aftermarket 3 point. I was hopeing to use it for light disking and plowing with a Ford 10-80 two disk plow. Haven't decided on a 5' or 6' yet. I know it will pull it, watched my Uncle plow about 15 acres every year with a Super A and two disk plow when I was a kid. (yeah it took awhile) Just wasn't sure about lifting it without breaking something, looks kind of fragile.

If you don't have the 1 point hitch, 3 point probably the way to go. Try and keep your implement weight close as possible to tractor. I quite often haul items on top of my s-tine harrow. I just throw a piece of plywood on and load up. Sometimes I have to throw items forward so tractor can lift. My harrow is 6 feet wide and about 4.5 front to rear. If I place much weight right at back tractor will not lift. If 1 point interests you I did fabricate one a number of years back. If interested e mail I will tell you how.

I have a 16 disk harrow that I can't even budge. The tractor lifts is very easily, however the from wheels bounce a lot when the harrow is off the ground. I have used the harrow as a wheelie bar when dragging large round hay bales around, the harrow keeps the tractor from tipping over backwards. These tractors have a lot more muscle than you may expect. My brother bought a 2002 MF 1423 with hydrostat to use around new houses he builds. I borrowed it to try out my post hole digger and used the box blade to move some hay that the cows left in the field. His tractor would bog down and not pull the hay even in 4wd. funny, my tractor put the whole 1500 lb bale in the field and his tractor wont move a cople hundred pounds of hay. I think I will keep my 140.

ps. how do you add photos to posting, I will post a photo of my 140 with disk.

Mark : Initially you sent me scratching my head, then I realized you personally can't budge the 16 blade disc. I have a 20 blade as well as a 17 tooth s-tine harrow and two furrow plow. I have no problem pulling or lifting any of these with tractor. I have SA, 130 and 140 all with fast hitch. My 130 doesn't have the spring assist on fast hitch. I even question how much good that spring is, 130 lifts as well as others.
