Can anyone tell me what spark plug they use in their F-20 tractor? I've tried the Autolite (I think it was a 3076 plug) and it doesn't run very well on those. I was told that's what the originals crossed over too. The ones I'm using now are the Champion W95D plugs which run very well in this engine, have tried the same plugs in a couple other F-20's and they give the same results, the W95D's run better in that engine. The W95D's have an extended electrode.

OK,
Both the Champion W95D and Autolite 3077 plugs have the extended electrode and both of them run very well in the engine. The Autolite 3076 runs ok but the engine idles rough like the carbretor is out of adjustment when it's really not. I don't think these were what was originally used but they run a whole lot better!

I switched from champions to autolites a couple of years ago and i like them alot. My F20 is a parade tractor so it tends to carbon up easy. I keep 2 sets of plugs so after a parage i put in a different set and take the dirty set to napa and they lightly sand blast the tips for me. If champions are working for you then i would stick with them.

What was the number on the spark plugs you're using?

andrew, I am running autolite 3076's Like I said before it is just preference. I ran champions for a year and it did just fine. Then my neighbor who had a F20 told me that he thought champions were junk and gave me a set of autolites to try. I really couldnt tell a big difference. Like i also said my tractor rarely gets pulled hard so the carboning up problem is somewhat of an issue but i would imagine that would be the case for champions too. I dont know. Like my grandpa used to say, you dont go to the doctor if your not sick, so it it works, the dont fix it. Have fun

OK,
Thanks for the info, i've always used autolites, but the champions were the only thing I had to try with the long electrode on them. I couldn't get the 3076's to run very well, that's what was in the tractor when I got it. I got a set of 3077's for it and it runs perfect. I don't have any trouble with the plugs getting carbon on them though. I pulled out the champions tonight and all of them still looked almost like new. My dad has an F-20, it has a different mag, but he had to use the 3077's also.
