I just inherited an International 3444. Anyone know the years these were made? It hasn't been cranked/used in about 10 years. It's a diesel. I'm concerned about finding any needed parts for the engine, getting it running, and the hydralics are probably in bad shape. I just ordered a service manual to get me started. I have alot of experience with gas engines, but diesels are new to me. Any info anyone has concerning getting my tractor in operation and/or restoring it would be much appreciated.

Wes,

I do not have any written information on the 3444. As I remember, it was a rugged intergral frame backhoe/loader tractor. The one I remember had hydrostatic drive. I don't remember if that was standard or optional. The engine was probably a 187.5 cu in four cylinder but I don't guarantee that either. It was built in the late 60's or possably very early seventies I believe. We sold mostly farm equipment but I believe we did sell one 3444 and it was a very good backhoe/loader.

my 3444 has the dry single stage clutch with manual transmission. a dual stage clutch (live power) was a option as was hydrostatic drive, they were available with eather gas or diesel power the diesel engine was a BD-154)(154 CI) the gas engine was a BC-144 (144 CI)

I have the origional owners manual to go with mine so if you have any questions send me a e-mail

as far as value on a 3444 I have a 1971 gas shuttle shift with 2600 hrs on it I paid 1500.00 for it and replaced exhaust gave it a tune up runs great even on coldest winter day in NH it has a makeshift ROPS with a windshield no backhoe just a 55 gal concrete counterweight.I've seen many for about same price or moderately higher.I wouldn't pay much more as the loader doesn't dig well and without a pto all attachments are hyd, mine came with a hyd sickle bar.its primary use is moving snow which it does well,I found that heat from exhaust caused hyd problems which were cured by replacing exhaust and giving greater clearance to area near outlet of filter.

Im in fellas !!! I just bought a 3444 backhoe and front loader, dragged it up from Alibama to NC. Hey a thousand bucks and it does run and the arms work. It has been used to death, and I will need plenty of parts for it as time goes by. It sure isnt new!! I dont know thew year/s they were made, nor do I know any info at all about this model. It doesnt have a 3pt hitch for the arm, rather a bolt on arm with brackets. There is an upper gear where the arm bolts on that keeps the arm from swinging side to side when the hydraulics arent being moved arouynd. Mine is stripped and I was thinking of keying it somehow, and welding the quill to the top bracket. This is where the hydraulic return line enters (through the top of the quill) and is there an alternitive? Im going to stump my property, and grade where nes. I dont really need to go into buis. with it,but i do want it to work,, PLEASE GET BACK TO ME,,I NEED INFO !!!! Thank you Sean Vesely rodtech@mindspring.com
