I have a dumb question.I collect MMs but was offered a Farmall yesterday.I looked at the tractor and it was very rough. The serial number indicated it was a 1950 model, however it had an X1 after the number.Does this mean anything special?I now own the tractor ,is it anything special? Thanks Moline

X1 means that the tractor came from the factory to burn gasoline, nothing unusual.

Since IH also made kerosene and distillate engines, they used the X1 suffix to designate a gasoline only engine -- definitely nothing special, just higher compression and more power than kerosene/distillate. They probably made 100000+ (or more) of them mostly after WWII.
