Am trying to get a 560 diesel ready for this summer to pull with. Was reading back on a 660 and they were talking about putting 806 pistons in it. 806 pistons won't fit in a 282 motor or is there something I don't know? What would be the best turbo for this tractor? I have a TO4B90 aireacearch but was told this would not help me out much because the 282 could not spin it fast enough. Can I make it pull against a 4020 DEERE and do good.

I know a guy that has a 560 diesel and he said that he could drop the 806's in it w/o boring it. He said that if he would do this type of thing again, he would go and get an 806 block and put in it. The 806 block was the biggest in the line of that time. His 660 w/ 806 pistons and a turbo, and the fuel pump not turned up, he can get 100 horse. He went and got an M&W turbo and put it on it. He did this to a 560 and 660. I think I remember him saying that his 560 got 82 horsepower, but he didn't turn the fuel up.

that 282 will spin a t-04 turbo if you can keep the head gasket in it.you may have to run a copper head gasket.don't know if 806 pistons will fit or not i do know a 282 is a dry block.so it all depends on how far you can bore it.

I don't know if D-361 (806 Diesel) pistons will fit. Here's what I think happened with that 660 post- There were two 301 engines, the C-301 gas and the D-301 diesel. The C-301 was the gas engine for the 806. The D-301 was the same engine as the D-282 in your 560, but it was sleeveless and had more bore, it was found in the early 715 combine, no tractors . I wonder if someone was talking about putting D-301 pistons in a D-282 and got it confused with the C-301 and ended up calling them 806 pistons. I'm not saying that 806 Diesel pistons wouldn't fit, I'm just saying that it's going to be much easier to install D-301 pistons. As far as turbos go, IH made a turbo kit for the 560, try to find one of those, as it will bolt right on.
