I recently bought my tractor & it ran good. It started running a little rough & then began to die & not pull, now it runs for alittle & then dies. Changed fuel line & cleaned gas tank & still dies after afew minutes. Could it be the sump bowl assembley or something else?

Check to see if there is a fuel strainer inside carb fitting where gas line joins carb. I worked on a Super A once years ago and found a clogged fuel strainer to be the problem. If fuel is getting to engine , I would check for a bad coil next. The coil can start to fail as the engine warms.

Tom,
Yes, could be the float bowl, metering jet, main jet - or anywhere along the fuel line.

Could also be a condensor or just a bad connection in the primary wiring; if you check the other side of the tractor.

Fun stuff - chasing down gremlins - but think of it this way: the tractor has no fuel pump, only a simple single throat carb, only 4 cylinders and no electronics. Troubleshooting your car would be 10 times the headache.

Good luck with it.
