Was adjusting the carb yesterday, then my problem started. It had been a little wet and humid here. I have about 10 hr on a rebuilt carb, plugs, points, timing, wires ,etc. I cleaned up the plugs today, gapped them, dressed the points and set them in the mag. The H doesn't accelerate smoothly and crisply like before ,it sounds like a John Deere B, kind of popping. My next place to start is the carb. Is there a particular place to look in the carb. I can take it all apart except for the grafite packing, I took that apart once and it cost $$$$$$ to get a new one. Any ideas?

I think Lindy is on to it, if the timing is advanced too far, they will sound that way.

Put a timing light on it, and eliminate the possibility that something changed with the points adjustment.
Mags have no tolerance for humidity. Spray some dryer of some kind in there.
Check the plugs again. Today's gas fouls them up something fierce.
I don't think the carb is at fault, unless there's black smoke coming out of the stack. Any carb problem on the starving side results in backfiring kind of symptoms.
It's electrical, I'm sure.

Thanks guys, I will check out the electrical. I noticed on the points there was a small pit that I couldn't file out completely, about the size of a pin prick, could that be a problem?
