I have a bad leak coming from above the sheet metal pan at rear of hydraulic pump. It is not hydraulic fluid it is transmission oil. Is there a shaft that run the pump between the transmission and pump? How is it removed and can new seals be installed? any input appreciated

I-H Man, you need to remove the liftall and then its a fairly simple task from there. You will need to unbolt the driveshaft and get it out of the way, the seal is inside of a threaded collar which will turn off with a small pipewrench. A screw driver will pry the old seal out and tap the new seal in and you are reassembling.I bought an H about 5 years ago and I changed the rear oil and topped it up where it was supposed to be and it started leaking all ove rthe shop floor...the seal was out of it and probably had been for some time, I don't have a liftall on this H so it was an after supper job one night....good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario

run a rod through the cultivater mounting on the bottom of the pump and two men can let it down easy. I have taken the pump in and out by myself and a floor jack but it is tricky. there is a coupler that you must get lined up to reinstall. The seal should be easy to get to if you find that is where the leak is. I'm guesing the transmission half of the drive is threaded on. I know the pump half is.
