Can anyone tell me a site that I can go to so that I can find out more about LP systems? I just got a 400LP and it's a great tractor. I am only familiar with old carbs though. Doesn't seem to do me much good here.
The only trouble that I seem to be having here is that I have to plan out all of my work because after I run it up to temperature (normal temp.) and then turn it off it won't start again until it cools off. About half a day.
It's not been a problem yet, but it doesn't seem right.
Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for all of your help guys. I Do need to give it a general tune up. That should take care of any electrical problems.
It's pretty confusing to me right now. "Too many parts". I can identify the circulator, that's pretty obvious. But, the thottle linkage goes to a unit at the front left lower part of the engine. I just need to get a book, but all of the one's I've seen are for gas and diesel and are pretty sparse with their info on LP.
John, I'm up east of Dallas between Royse City and Caddo Mills. It kinda seems like most of the guys around here are pretty proud of their green tractors.
This is my first and I'm having a blast! It's running ok right now so I'm just mowing (with a 400!) better too much power than not enough.
Well, I've yanked on your ears long enough. This forum is teaching me a lot. You'll be hearing from me often. Thanks again for all of your help.

GaryinTX, Where in Texas are you! I am 20 mi south of Lampasas! Anyway I'll bet your carb has a blown diaphram,or two depending on the type of carb it had. Your local LP dealer should be able to help you with this set up. If not hollar back at me and I'll see what I can find out for you.
Chances stand to reason that the vaporiser needs a rebuild too. Don't get upcited about an LP being different from a gas one. They are the same! The fuel and delivery system are the only things different. They both have a distributor, points plugs and such. You just need to get to understanding of this delivery system. I know, I have worn out 3 pickups on LP. Hope this helps!
Good Luck,
John A.

Gary, Next time it gets to operating temp and you need to cut it off.
#1 Cut the valves off let the engine burn all the fuel from the line. #2 When ready to start the tractor again A. Start cranking the engine first B. Slowly "crack" the Vapor valve. ONLY crack this valve, and no farther, then shut off. C. With your free hand, vasalate the sreering wheel back and forth while turning the engine over. step C- Old 4020 LP trick. It has something to do with reliving hydrolic pressure in start-up. D. When she Hits... open valve.
Good Luck,
John A.

Gary. LP and gas are the same engin. Check coil, condenser, and other ignition parts just as you would on a gas tractor. It sounds like an elec. problem not fuel. lol Morgan
