Support Brace for Splitting Farmall H

Would like to know where I could buy a support bracket that I could bolt to the front end of my Farmall H. I need to perform a rear-section split to replace some really bad oil seals on the main drive shaft going into the rear end. I found a diagrahm in an old Super C manual and wanted to know if there is anything similar for purchase out there for an H.

I think your seal problem is taken care of, but if you ever do need to split the tractor make your self a brace out of 1 and 2 inch pipe one for each side 2 inch bolted to frame with a lenght crossways for a foot 1 inch piece for brace. we bolted this to front half and used over head hoist on back.

Split the tractor-which is more work, but less cursing will be involved. It will come apart and go together much easier.

Those oil seals can be replaced without splitting the tractor.

Please tell me more. How can I replace these oil seals without splitting the tractor? I did replace the countershaft oil seal. This was pretty simple since the the dog was threaded to the shaft. However, the main shaft oil seal doesn't appear the be threaded at all and it is coupled to the drive shaft. If there is better way to do it without splitting the tractor, then I would really like to know how. I can't find anything in my IH service manual. I would appreciate any help you could lend.

Those yoke bolts are tapered and fit very snugly.
I took my acetylene torch with a small tip and heated the outside of the part where the bolt is fitted. Just a LITTLE heat and the expansion will free up the tapered bolt. Watch out for the rubber cushion washers so they don't burn on you. Have a rag wet with water handy.
Patience is the word. Watch out for other fire hazards!

The yoke on the main input shaft is held in place with a bolt and washer down in the middle of the yoke, if yours doesn't have one, it is because it has become loose and fallen out, which does happen sometimes, other than that, approach the job as if you were going to replace the clutch, except the clutch itself does not need to come out, if you look up under the tractor, you should see which bolts need to be removed in order to remove the clutch shaft. After you have removed all of them, you should be able to slide the shaft out of the clutch hub, and remove it. Getting some of those bolts to come loose requires a good bit of patience and some rather unorthodox methods, don't be afraid to use your hammer, and a good pry bar won't hurt either. If you know any choice words, now is the time to use them, and talking to yourself is o.k. Also, while the clutch shaft is out, do not depress the clutch pedal, or you will be removing the clutch in order to get it lined up again.
