What's the difference, if any, between the model A and a Super A?

Hydraulics, the engines are and other parts are the same. Super A-1 had a bigger engine, water pump and larger radiator.

Angie: The most obvious difference is that the Super A has hydraulics. Specifically, if you look just behind the engine, you will see a shaft sticking through from one side of the tractor to the other, usually with a couple of arms on it that go back toward the driver's seat. There will also be another hand control lever by the throttle that controls these. There are several other differences (more powerful engine, for instance) that are more difficult to tell.

Angie: Glad we could help! Now a question for you--what indication do you have that this is a 1945 Farmall A? By the serial number you gave in your first post (serial plate should be on the left seat bracket, by the way) it's a 1941 A. The Super A's didn't start production until 1947, and I believe the starting serial # was SA250001.
