In my IH F-12, F-14 , O12, O14, F20, F30 Shop Manual, there is footnote, under tractor identification, that says: Name Plates bearing FSI55402 to I55902 were assigned field change over
packages for converting F12 to F14 tractors. The only difference which I can see is an increase in engine RPM from 1400, to 1650. What was the "package"?

I have a 14 that has a 12 number on the engine. How would I know if this was a conversion model or not?

The kit came with a new serial number plate, which he numbers are listed in the original post ot this thread. Its possible the engine was replaced with a 12 engine at some point as well.

Getting into IHC tractors too? The trucks and tractors make a great combination. It would be a sight to see a DS-30 hauling an F-14.

The 14 series also had an oil breather added to the right side of the crankcase cover.

Front to back,if I can rember right, coupling near the end of the steering rod, increased engine rpms,I dont remember if the governor had any different parts, but I know the RPMs were the same as 14s,taller steering post, taller brake controls, taller seat support.I dont think the gears in the tranny are differnt,at least my parts book isnt showing anything other than high spped gears for third(optional) and of course, the serial number plate. The old guy I know who has one of these also has a 12 he converted over without a kit!Cant tell a differecne in the two except his 12(14) has a 12 serail number and his 14 conversion has a 14 plate with 12 engine numbers.

wih the increased engine speed f-14's also had different gearing to slow the transmission down.

They also raised the steering wheel to give a better steering position.
