I have a Farmall M that sputters and wants to just completely quit when under a load. It has to be warmed up well for this to occur. I have replaced all the obvious things. ie. points, condensor, plug wires, coil. I have checked the fuel flow at carb and the line seems to have a good flow. Any help greatly appreciated.

If the engine has been worked on (ie valve job) then the valve clearances may be a problem. I rebuilt an engine once and forgot to re-adjust the valves afterwards. The result was an engine that ran great cold but barely ran at all once it warmed up. It also made lots of gassy oil. An oil change after the valve adjustment solved my problem, but not until I had done everything else imaginable to the ignition system, fuel system, etc... Clearances are easy to check, so it might just be worth a few minutes of your time to try it.

What ae you using for plugs? Have you pulled them? Looking at the color on the tip will tell you a bunch.

Also check the screen inside the carb fitting the fuel line screws into. It is also possible, maybe not likely, that the float is set too low. An indication would be if it runs better with the choke partially closed. If it does not do this until warmed up, but runs better when cold, it sure sounds like the coil or condenser, but if you are sure they are ok??

The load jet may be turned in too far, turn it out one or two turns and see if that helps.
