That old radiator might be better than a new one! the new ones are way too thin and are prone to cracks. If the old one doesn't leak, just drain it and fill it with DISTILLED WATER and run it for a few hours, get the water good and hot. Drain it before it cools, and refill with distilled water and antifreeze mix. If you change it every year and use only distilled water or rain water for that matter, it will clean itself out! Well water over the years will build up scale both on the cylinder walls in the water jacket , the head, and the radiator.

I did forget to add, when you drain it when warm, let it cool while empty before adding the new distilled water, don't need any cracked heads. Might even let it sit for 20 min before draining, BUT as the water cools it will redeposit scale, so be sure it is about 120-150 degrees when you drain it out.
