Bought 1940 M, hasn't run in 15yrs. Got is running, but the throttle dosn't respond. Everything seems to be working. I've never
dealt with a seperate throttle unit. The only way to control power, is by adjusting the choke.
Forgive my ignorance, but new to the hobby. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Your tractor has a mechanical governor between your throttle linkage and the carburetor. It is located on the front left side of the engine. Remove the D-shaped cover to reveal the internal workings of the governor. Look for a broken spring and/or siezed parts. If the engine sat that long (15 years) check EVERY moving part. The best advice you can take is to get a service manual. There is a detailed section in it covering the governor and its operation and setup. Once the governor is working properly, you may also see problems with the carburetor. It isn't uncommon to have rust and varnish preventing proper operation after sitting for a year, much less fifteen of them.
