A friend just picked up a Int. 350 (gas)Hi-Utility, was wondering how many were made. Serial number checks to 1958.Also, I went to pick up another H today, and wouldn't you know that the owner had 2 H's and they were consecutively serial numbered and the owner never knew it.These were 1951 H's and the one I bought is #358604, and the one the owner still has is 358605.I checked these numbers 3 times to be sure I was seeing, what I was seeing. Anybody out there with a similar story?

Somewhere around 980 350 Hi-utilities. Only made in 1958. Rollie

The dealer simply got two consecutive tractors off the line--don't know if IH actually kept them in order until they were shipped or not. Or, they may have been ordered with the same special equipment. The place where I used to work had two consecutive JD 3020's.

As the story the owner told (Horse farmer)the H that we bought today was gone over by a local 4H group, who he bought it from (a year ago)it developed problems so he parked it, and purchased another H to use (manure hauling)he took some parts off the first H for the second (the H he still has). This man was never a farmer per-say and purchased these 2 tractors at (total) random.Apparently, some where along the 52 years that these two machines were around, they arrived at the same place. As I said earlier, the owner never even looked at the serial numbers, when I told him about it today he seemed shocked, especially when I said there where about 200,000 units built.I wonder what the odds on this are?

Actually there were a little over 390000 H's built. Yes two consecutives are unusual. But, they are both 1951's, and IF they were bought new at the same dealer, AND remained in the same area for 52 years it is possible. If either of these two things are not true, then it is very weird.
