I've got a 1940 H and the seal for the clutch input shaft to the transmission and the seal for output shaft to the belly pump are leaking badly. Can the seals be changed without splitting the tractor? Thanks brad

Yes you can. I did it on mine and posted this to my web site (even have photos)
You can check it out and see how I did it ( might not be the right way) But at least you can see whats in there. look for the links relating to the lift all removal and the tran seals.
Hope this helps.

yes. Just drop the belly pump & go to work.
The drive shaft from clutch to transmission is the hardest part to remove due to tapered bolts and the rubber cushions in the joint.
Patience.

I Just changed the seals in mine and did not have to split the tractor, The only glitch that I had was that I had to make the gaskets as they were not available from International Harvester.

Got the belly pump seal done ok. Wrench slipped trying to get clutch coupler bolts cracked loose and ouch. The wrench is a little short for the tightness of the bolts, Good time to quit for the night. Will get the right length wrenches in the morning.
