Well I did it. I paid the man $500 for this piece. It actually looks better in person that it does in the pictures. I took the battery out of my Ford 800 and put it in the Cub. If fired up and ran smooth. There's a big boat parked behind it so I couldn't drive it. I just took the chance, figuring that with the wheel weights, lights, plows, straight tin that I could always get my $500 back by selling the parts if nothing else.

Sorry about the quality of the pics. The sun was not in the right place to get a good shot of the right side or front. I'll get better pics after I get it home (the next challenge...anyone got a trailer for cheap?).

jim, you need to reduce the size and or resolution of your pics. check the settings on your camera. I have dial up and the pics take forever to load.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I'll remember to change the camera settings before I take another pic destined for the YT boards.

Actually for 500 it looks pretty good. Seen 'em look ALOT worse than tht go for 500. If it ran it is worth more than that. Any way, my two bits.

The serial number is 42870 which would make it a 1948 if I read the serial number chart correctly.

I'll be asking questions as I get into this thing further. First one is, what is the round dial on the dash? It's about 2" in diameter and has a little pointer. The decal on the dash that would tell me what it's pointing to is completely faded away. Also, the ammeter is broken. Where's the best place to get a replacement? Thanks.

The round dial on the dash is for the front and rear lights. Unless you have operational lights and probably rewire, you don't really need the ammeter. However, in addition to sites like this, check E-bay under Farmall Cub for some parts. Replacement decal sets are available after you paint it. Owner and service manuals are also readily available.
