I can't get this thing out. I have it ripped down. The only thing the parts manual sais that holds it in are the front support and rear suport. All the bolts are out but it seams like the rear pins are still holding tight. I can lift the whole tractor with my hoist, the front moves but not the back. Have I missed something? Could the rear pins hold that tight? Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks Bob

Yep,
I have all the bolts out, I can't believe the pins are holding that tight?

Did you say I can put a nut on the back of the pins and pull them out?

The only other thing I can think of is to warm up the casting with a torch, hate to do that!

Bob

Those pins should have threads on it to put a nut on to run them out. When I pulled mine the threads on one side were wore out or had just been hit alot or something but I couldnt get a nut on it.I ended up takeing an old screwdriver and driving it in between the block and casting to get it broke loose, but the nut thing will work if the threads are good. When you are lifting the engine its accually tilting back and putting the dowles in a bind. You could try jacking the back of the engine but if the wont come out lifting theengine jacking probably wont break them loose either.Just a side note, when you put the engine back in,put a little dab of antiseize or grease on those dowels just in case for some reason you have to move the engine up or down some when you put the clutch back in.

There are two dowels that must come out that look like threaded rods. They are near the back two bolts, put a nut on those and run it in until it pulls those out and itll lift right out. There are two bolts in the front and two in the back, thats all that holds the engine in.

One of those bolts I know is hidden inside the clutch housing, unless that is only on a H. Good Luck Tim K.

ps . it would be visible once the starter was removed

Bob there are 2 cap screws through the top of the clutch housing into the back of the block do you have those out the pins should not be that tight.
