Just started my c engine after overhaul.....
Hot Oil pressure at idle is about 55 to 60 percent of the gauge (between the "I" and the "L") in the word OIL.
I don't have a gauge that registers in pounds..... and this is the first time I've seen it run....

Does this sound about right for pressure?
What is the calibration of the gauge? 0 to ? pounds?

Thanks !
Gary

Many times low oil pressure in C113 and C123 engines is caused because of wear on the bottom plate of the oil pump. It is easy to correct this by droping the pan and taking the bottom plate off of the oil pump. If you don't have the expertise to true up this plate any machine shop can do this for you. The gasket (the thinest I have ever seen) is available from your local CNH/IHC/CNH dealer.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY

I have an (a) that I rebuilt last year and (same engine) and my oil pressure gauge reads just above the red at idle when hot. Sounds like maybe I have a problem too. I did disassemble the oil pump and cleaned it good and then reassembled.I havent seen any overhaul kits available for this pump, or any aftermarket replacements.

I like to see them on the outside of the L, but if it runs there after it is hot, meaning after running 30 minutes or so you are OK. I have a Super A that needs engine work, third in line at the moment, that drops substantially when it is run for a while. This is an indication of the need for engine/oil pump work. Without looking it up, I believe the operators manual shows the needle in the middle.
