And X1F is gasoline, and high speed gears. That is what mine has.

Mike, Suffix "X" is Kerosene, "X 1" is Gasoline, No suffix is Distilate. Both Kerosene and Distilate tractors had the small gasolene tank to the right front of the main fuel tank. Many of these tanks were removed through the years as they were converted to Gasoline only. Thats why you may see a hood with an extra hole on the right side. During WWII, Kerosene and distilate fuel was cheaper and more readily available than was gasoline which was expensive as well as in short supply.

I believe the only fuel suffix that is reasonably consistent is X1 for gasoline. Guy Fay's data book lists X3 as kerosene and X17 as distillate. My 41 H is either kerosene or distillate, and has no suffix. I probably can check the part number on the head to find out what it is.
