Super A demonstrator question

I'm wondering what all you might expect to pay for a farmall Super A demonstrator from 1950. It has the correct serial Numbers for that period and white paint under the red. The tin is in decent shape with the nose pretty rusty. Tires are bad but usable and will need replaced. Otherwise owner says it runs good. Just curious how much to offer. I assume more than a regular super A anyway. Location is PA. I know that sometimes plays a part on pricing. I would really love to get this baby and restore it and sometimes it all is what your willing to pay but I'd like to be reasonable to start. Any input or thoughts welcome.

mark, I wouldn't pay any premium for it. Once you restore it it will just be your word that it was white once before. And I suspect that a lot of dealers fixed up their own demonstrators too.

I might not be willing to pay much of a premium, but if the serial numbers match and can be checked against the casting numbers to be sure someone did not just pull the seat off a white one, or faked the serial, etc, it will be authenic. Serial #'s FAA 281269--285298 are well know by those who know white demo's.

I passed up a super A and talked my friend into buying it. He paid $1100. My thought is you can take any 1950 model year IH tractor and paint it white and call it a demonstrator. Yes, the tractor ran good. It had been painted red over the white. The gas tank needed repair, was full of crud. I saw a white A for sale a while back for $7800, if the guy got it, then I don't know what I am talking about.

Of the 18857 Super A's built in 1950, only 4029 were demonstrators. There were 14828 that were not. Anyone can paint anything white and call it a demonstrator, but many of us will consider it fraud. The numbers may be off very slightly due to poor or missing records, but that isn't a reason to commit fraud. Any demonstrator should be well documented in addition to having the correct serial number.

Just wanted to mention that yes its a 1950 and red over white but the serials are also good so it does have some backing. Not like someone just making a replica or something. it was a demonstrator according to all the info I have read. There were around 4000 of them... is that not correct? anyone?
