Stuart: I know what you are saying. I wanted a rotary hoe for my Farmall Super A. Used ones are usually worn to bits. The smallest new one built that I could find was a 400 JD 3 point and 15' wide. Just a bit much for my SA. I was talking with a friend and we went to John Deere dealer and bought the new one. Since those are made up of 2-4' sections and 2-3.5' sections, we cut the 4x4 main tool bar at the 7-8' mark. He took the 8 footer for use behind his 2350. We fabricated a fast hitch for my section at his shop. His section was ready for use first. He headed into field just a very slight incline. I couldn't believe the black smoke that 2350 was belching and loosing rpms as well. This 2350 was almost new at the time. I though, well I've made a mistake this time my Super A will never pull the 7' rotary hoe. Surprise the Super A plays with 7' rotary hoe in 3 gear, even on hills and has no problems lifting it. That is OK, I understand your problem, most of these guys may not.
