Can anyone tell me what a seasonal disconnect is/does? I have a Super W6 - TA with an independant PTO that I can't seem to engage. The manuals are not much help either. Could it be that the seasonal disconnect is set at "disconnect"?

Dan is right, but the only thing you harm by leaving it connected and shut off the PTO is your ears because they wine a little.

Believe it is similar to the one on my SMTA. Under the TA housing is a lever, it engages the a coupler in the pto shaft. When not using pto you are suppolsed to disconnect it then the PTO unit does not spin in the rear housing all the time. The coupler broke on mine a couple years ago and I replaced it with a solid coupler, not sure if the disconnect one is available any more and apparently were prone to breakage. I now leave pto lever in mid position except when using it. Someone here advised that as otherwise when break is set the unit spins rapidly inside housing. I don't remember which position lever is in to connect or disconnect, will check tonight if you need further.

Thanks! Dan, I'd be very grateful if you could check the position of the lever - although if my guess is correct - it should be the opposite of where it is presently.
I haven't actually located the seasonal disconnect lever yet, but I'm assuming I have to crawl under the tractor to get at it - correct?
