OK Guys. I finally finished my 3-year restoration of my F14. I’m down to applying the remaining 4 decals in the set. I suddenly realized I’m not sure of the exact right location for each. I have the following decals and the measurements are only approximate.

A 3” x 4.5” warning about stopping the PTO before dismounting. I was thinking this went on the plate above the PTO shaft. After pondering this it seemed rather dumb as you would have to be dismounted to read it.

A 1.75” x 3.25” warning about pulling without the drawbar. Maybe this should go on the above-mentioned plate. Just seems smaller than what I recall seeing on other ones.

A 1”x 1.5” shift pattern decal. I thought this went on the back of the gas tank but where exactly. My tank has the round dimple not the X.

A 1.25” x 3” patent # decal. No idea at all where this one goes.

Can any of you experts help me out with these or point me in the right direction. I have an F-series photo archive but it isn’t much help. I do see a decal on the plate above the PTO in there, but it also seems larger and square rather than rectangular like mine.

I will soon update my web page, which will show the whole project from start to finish.

Thanks
Tim

Thanks! I bet yours looks a lot better than this one did 3 years ago! Here it is pulled out of the hedgerow where it sat for over 30 years. Restoring something like this gives you a real sense of accomplishment. Almost like you saved a life! Well, Maybe not quite!

Weeeee elllll lllll!Mine did look that bad!BUT,it was all in tact, and had the steel wheels on it which fortunately were in good shape.Engine had locked up and was rebuilt, quick blast job and paint and decals was about all it got!I plan over the winter to really get into it and do it right.A friend of the family "borrowed" it for a few years until he died and I got it back.Needs alot of tranny work, hollers more than it should and I need to get a good carb for it,the one thats on it now will run but is wore out and floods.

My opinion. The PTO warning goes on the back of the fuel tank. The drawbar warning goes on the back of the tractor, either on the PTO shild or right above it on the casting. I don't think there was a shift pattern decal from the factory. I have seen original tractors with a Patent decal on the side of the fuel tank down low. All this being said; a lot of times the decals you buy now are not exact reproductions so you have to leave a little room for guessing.
