Hi the 454D has a german 179D engine with a British transmission/rear end. It may have been crated and shipped to US and assembled in US. If it has Delco electrical then it was assembled in US. The British made ones had the dreaded Lucas electrical system. This is the smaller version of 464,574,674,874. We have had one for 30 years must have well over 15K hours on it. The hour meter broke at 5600 hrs. about 20 years ago.
The worst problem is hydraulic brakes/parking brake. You can search the achives for IH 574 and there will be plenty of enteries.
Good 40 HP utility tractor. Can turn in small spaces. Do not put a 2250 mount-o-matic loader on it as it is to heavy for front end, use the 15XX model loader.

Vic,
The 4x4 tractros were made both in US and England. At least the 444 was. The SN will probably be on the right side of the clutch housing. If the SN begins with a U it was made in usa and will have delco electricals, if the SN begins with a B it was made in England, and will have lucas electrical.

Good luck
