Folks,

I know where there are two Ford tractors sitting...waiting for somebody to grab them.

How do I figure out what there are? I know I could go to the Ford site, but I do not want to endanger the life of my keyboard and computer.

There are also three Farmall M's sitting there. I could buy them but...M's are too big for me. Any takers?

Thanks!

im from austin mn and frequently travel through hubbard. i would be interested in the n's or especially the m's. even if i dont get a chance to buy them, i have a few tractors in oklahoma to pick up and would be interested in delivering that a way if someone else gets them bought.

They are all located near Hubbard, Minnesota Zip 56470. I will try to get some photos for all of you. They all look relatively old, like the 40's. The M's are resonably complete. I am sure none of them turn over but I could be wrong.

Scott

How old are the fords?
If it is a 9n,2n or 8n the serial number is located on a flat below the cyl head, mid way on the engine side (opposite side of engine from the manifold.)
9n and 2n serial numbers start with 9n***** and 8 n starts with 8n*****.
9n and 2n have a brake pedal each side where the 8 n has both brake pedals on the same side.
Rear rims on the 9n and 2n have sort of a flat inner circle with a large bolt circle, where the 8 n has a dished inner circle(more like a car rim) and a small bolt circle.
9n and 2 n have 3 speed transmissions, 8n has 4 speed.
9n and 2n has a metal knob cast into the shift, 8n has a plastic(rubber?) knob.

These are some basic differences that are easy to spot .

Any Ford N is worth $. These little guys are handy. As much as I lik Farmalls, for a tiny yuppie farm, these are a hot ticket. Are you in NY?

Take Care

sounds like a gold mine if cheap enough if I had found something like that I'd buy them all and fix them and sell what I didn't want or need but I also like to play with old tractors etc and some times even make a buck or two from doing it
