My Dad, who farmed with Farmalls most of his life, came out to CO to visit at the end of Sept. While he was here, we got the H out so he could take it for a spin around the block. He really looks at home up there. Since he will be 91 next week, we really feel blessed that he is still able to do the things he enjoys.

Thanks for sharing the picture! I have the H my dad bought new in '43; the only new tractor he ever bought. Also have the M and SM we he farmed with until he retired in 1988. He died two years ago at age 89. A few months before he died I went to his house and said "Come on, I need some help planting sweet corn!" I pushed him up onto the seat of the SM that was hitched to the planter, and he got to drive while I walked behind and occasionally changed seed. I don't think he did many things after that that he enjoyed even close to that much.

Great picture! Must say neither your dad or your tractor show their age.

That is really great. I just bought a nice original H from a guy who is 90 years old, and cannot any longer get up on it comfortably. He still uses his super A, but the H is too much, so he sold it to me. He lives on the farm he grew up on, and is all alone, with no kids. It's great to visit with these old geezers who were around when new things like tractors and airplanes were the sensation. He had his own airplane until 5 years ago, and kept it in the barn, using the lower hay field for his landing strip. He remembers his mother and brother being killed in a model T ford wreck. I still go see him, to listen to his stories.

Neat story. My Dad's first Farmall was a '44 H. Most of his 6 kids learned to drive on it. He is no longer with us but we'll never sell his H.
God Bless

Nice tractor but the important thing is still having your Dad. My Dad was a master mechanic; he's been gon for 11 years and my sons and I know that if he were still here, He'd be right out in the shop with us, up to his elbows in grease and all of us having a good time.
You are fortunate and I hope you have your Dad around form a lot more years.
