There is an oil leak coming from the leak hole in the bottom on my tranny. The leak has gotten worse over the course of a summer's mowing season. I pull a 5 foot bush hog about every other week in the summer. Am I looking at spending 10's, 100's or 1000's to repair.

Front seal of tranny is leaking you need to split at the front of the tranny. seal is rite there and easy to replace. Tearing down and splitting is the fun as you need stands and blocking. also the clutch and left brake pedals will have to move forward with the tourque tube. Easy for me as i have stands any more seems like two or more a year i get to do. Seal can be found at any parts house just give them the dimensions.

I knew one case where a leak was suspected and it ultimately was that the transmission was being overfilled. Not saying that is the case in your situation. There is a plug on the left side of the transmission, mostly hidden by the brake rods, that is the fill level plug for the transmission. Sitting in the rain can overfill the transmission, water on the bottom, oil on the top.
