If you have a three point on your 806, a 4-18 would be the plow. Get yourself an IH 710 or 720 plow.

I have an IH 444. Good little tractor. 1968 model, 3900 lbs + loader and loaded tires. It came with a heavy duty IH 2050 loader with seperate front mounted pump for the loader. Bought it about 1 year ago for 4,000.

I think you are referring to double acting hydraulics when you mention down pressure (not on the 3 point). Is that correct? Depends a lot on what you need the tractor for. There is a pretty wide range of Farmalls that are better than that 8n. Maybe a 400/450 with fast hitch. If you can use the power a 656 or 706 would be a great tractor.

There are lots of IH models to choose from. Other than the criteria you mention, another two key ones are how much horsepower and how old. To get true down pressure, you may have to go with a Fast Hitch equipped tractor, with a 3pt adaptor added if necessary (I have a Farmall 350 with a 2pt+3pt adaptor). The 2pt hitch has a pin you can add or remove under the hydraulic cylinder if you want or don't want (respectively) down pressure.

Possible models to look at (either Farmall (rowcrop) or International (utility)), roughly ordered by horsepower:
340
404
300
350
400
450
460
504
560

One thing for sure is it won't be hard to find something with more power than an 8N. Live hydraulics are available on most newer tractors and on a lot of older ones. Down pressure is tough to find. I Have it on my old smta with an after market 3 point and a lot of the older IH tractors that had aftermarket 3 points had this feature. I don't know what you want the down pressure for, I mostly use mine set for up only. Most implements are made to dig or whatever on their own if adjusted and maintained correctly. If the implement won't dig in, down pressure tends to just lift the back of your tractor so you have no traction. Type tractor you want depends upon how much more power you want,if you want live pto also, size that you want or can use etc. Look around and see what is available for what you want to pay. If you have a question on a model through it out here and someone will be glad to help I'm sure.

The Hydraulic down pressure feature on 3 point is rare on tractors. Not even an option on most makes.

460 utility is a good tractor, preferably gas powered, just a lot larger version of your 8n.

i would agree with earl i just bought a 460 gas utility with westendorf loader and just love it. has 2 point fast hitch and you can get the arms to make it 3 pt. loader comes off in 2 minutes for pulling my mower . i gave 3300 for it it did need a few things good tune-up, valvecover leaking.and a couple of tie-rods,
