C died and won't start

On the C if it sounds like someone turned the switch off, maybe that is just what you should check first. Check for power coming from switch to coil with switch on. There was a guy on here couple days back and that wire from switch to coil had broken. I doubt if the coil is problem as they tend act up when tractor is at operating temp and then will work again when cool. Could be in points or condencer. A couple of other problems I've had over the years is a loose distributor shaft. Tractor would stop if it hit a bump or other jolt. With that it would always restart right away. The other is striped gears on distributor drive. I have seen them strip completely, thus if points are open you have no fire. I have also seen them slip a few teeth on drive thus throwing timing off.

My first two thoughts would be power to coil and points and or condencer. May as well change both as just one. I will also tell you this, I have much better luck with ignition parts from CaseIH than other sources. I have seen ign parts from other sources that didn't fit right, didn't work well and didn't last long either.

Hugh, it was soooo dry here throughout August and September that most everyone expected a lower than average corn yield. However a lot of guys were really surprised at how well the crop stood the dry weather. Not too many farmers complaining at all. And that's rare! *grin*
