I have the original owners manuel that came with my 350. It says: For transmission and differential case (Tractors with Torque Amplifier) Capacity approx 7 gal. SAE 75 gear oil lubricant or a mixture of 1 quart IH Torque Amplifier Transmission Lubricant Additive to each 4 gallons of either SAE-10 or SAE-10W engine oil. When temps are consistently above +40°F., SAE-80 gear lubricant may be used. (For tractor without T.A.): Capacity 7 gal approx. SAE-75 or SAE-80 gear lube or mixture of 1 quart IH T.A. Lubricant Additive to each 4 gallons of either SAE-10 or SAE-10W engine oil. When temps are consistently above +40°F., SAE-90 gear lube may be used.

Bill, you're right on for what the orginal manual said. As you can see IH was trying to deal with the moisture in lube problem then. There solution was Hy Tran and all subsequent instructions were to use HyTran exclusively. No more mixing and changing seasonally. My nickel. Dick Davis

All tractors with TA and live PTO take Hy Tran in all compartments.
