42R combine

Found a 42R combine. Can you still find belts and canvases for these rigs? What years were they made and how easy are they to haul to shows? Any answers are certainly appreciated.

I have a 42R bagger and two 52R's, a tanker and a sacker. Most belts I have been able to find at caseIH. Jay-Dee Co. probably has them cheaper. The two main drive belts may be a problem but I think I have found something that'll interchange. I haven't had to buy any canvases, post over on the combines & harvesters board and you should get an answer, I have seen someone on there before saying they could get them made but I didn't write down their info.

You can haul a 42R or a 52R on an 8' wide trailer, it has to be at least 8', 8.5 is better. If your combine is a tanker it's narrower overall than the bagger version, the bagger's seat sticks over a little. But wheel width is the same.

I recently acquired a 52R bagger. Does anyone have an owners manual available? Al, you mentioned the main drive belts, do you have a source? I may need them. Thanks.

Just saw your other question on combines and harvesters--the 42R was made from 1940-1943. It came in grain bin and bagger versions. It was only available as PTO drive and was rated for a 1-plow tractor and up. It is a 4 foot cut. The main difference between a 42R and a 52R is a 52 is five foot cut. Separator, etc. are identical.

I can remember my grandfather had one that he bought in 1940 and pulled it behind a F-12. It is about 8 ft. wide and soesn't have a fl\olding tonque like others. Don't know about canvases but I think all belts should be available.
