The only benefit I can think of is that the hyd level is always above the pump with the under tank reservoir, so I would think that system would be easier to keep primed than the reservoir in the belly pump, but I know those work too. And I don't see why you couldn't series the two together to get more capacity, I'd run the outlet from the under tank reservoir to the fill for the belly pump, and then take a line from the drain under the belly pump as your return to the pump. You might want to dril and tap a larger hole for that return though as I think they are typically a 1" diameter hose and the drain woln't be that big. I get away with an aftermarket (ie:cross/prince) 2 spool valve, 1 spool for 3 pnt, 2nd with quick connect couplers for remote or loader bucket, they I use the factory 1 way valve in the reservoir for the main lift cylinders on the loader (lift only). That works if you don't mind the controls being in different places which is fine for hobby use, but would be terrible on a machine you worked full time. That said, I'd recommend you get a 3 or 4 spool open center valve and mount it convienient to you (like on the seat box). Two spools could operate the loader, one for the 3 pnt and optionally a 4th for a remote connection out back. Run it in series with the pump and reservoir. ie: take the pressure line from the pump to the inlet on the valve, outlet from valve to the inlet on the reservoir. One exception would be if you are adding PS for the loader. Then you would need a priority flow divider between the pump and the valve inlet, with the PS return going to the reservoir. Stan(VA).
