I just bought a 2-point balanced head sickel mower and would like to use it on my 230. my question is what do i need to raise and lower the cutter bar? the guy i bought the mower from had it on a super-c that had a flat bar running from the touch control arms from the front of the tractor back to the piviot arm on the mower which raised and lowered the bar.
my tractor does not have powered arms on the front.it has a bar that moves the front arms when the 2-point hitch is raised and lowered.it all moves together.
so how do i get the bar to raise and lower witout moving the 2-point arms up and down? sorry for the long post. any sugestions would be greatly appreciated!

Kevin the mower for the 230 we had was for the 230 it was a pitman mower. Now on the left side be low the platform there should be a cast tube, the mower had a chain with a steel peg same diamiter as ID of tube when you raised the fast hitch the chain tightened up and raised the mower. That chain was fastened to the lift arm on the mower. on the right side of the mower was a nother chain and I can't remember just where it was fastened but it had a clevis on it and there was a flat piece on the tractor it hooked on to stop you when you let the fast hitch down. I will look through the pictures to see if I can find a picture on the tractor. I hope you under stood all this I am sorry I am not the best whth words. Jim

Jimmy,
thank you so much for your response. but i still am having trouble understanding how this would work. when you say cast iron tube is it on the tractor or mower? and if the peg is the same diameter as the tube would it just slide in the tube? I am sorry to bug you but any more info you can provide would be greatly appreciated! kevin.

There were no pictures at the right angle to see the parts on the back.
