We have had a B-414 diesel for 39 years, put the loader on apout 1972, it has been one tough tractor! It has been overhauled at least twice and have broke off both front spindles on separate occasions, but we have used and probably abused it for a lot of hard work.

I have a gas model and am very pleased with it. I have upgraded to hydro. I guess the Diesels are fussy in cold weather but over all I think they are pretty good. Mine is rated about 38 H.P. and has 3pt, power steering, diff lock, 8 forward and 2 reverse speeds. It also has live power using a dual stage clutch. The biggest problem with them are lack of knowledge on what they can get done. Ive been trying to sell mine but have had no luck. Comparing to its counter parts Im pretty resonable on price. Could you let me know what it goes for? Thanks If you need more info let me know. good luck

I've got a B414 diesel that I recently bought and I think it is a pretty tough little tractor. Mine apparently had a loader on it at one time. A friend showed me where it was welded back together after it broke in two. Front end looseness is a problem with mine, can't go in 3 or 4 hi because of shimmy. Hope this helps.

I've got a B-414 diesel that I've owned for several years. I bought it from the widow of the original owner after it had been parked for 15 years. We pulled it five feet to crank it after all that time. From the clutch housing back is the same as a 424, 354, etc. The parts manuals show the same part numbers for the housings. The man is right. the front ends are loose as a goose. It helps if you have a "wishbone" which is standard on the power steering models. I put a floor type starter button on mine for the glow plugs and it has never failed to crank. I also put LARGE battery cables on after I noticed how the originals jimped when I engaged the starter. That helped more than you can imagine.
