Well here is an update,, I was able to bolt the rear engine plate from the H on to the 6 cyl,, then I had to drill out and tap the remaining 4 holes to bolt the block to the plate,, Not tooo bad,, The frame rails worked too, but have to be lengthened, as it is,, the front of the engine is where the H radiator would be HA HA,, I am thinking of using the H flywheel too,, Just drilling out the proper bolt joles, and the alignment pin,, and balancing it, I have to space it out away from the plate,, So it will match the H bellhousing,, so I can use the H starter and clutch. The frame rails,, I had to relocate the breather pipe on the left side,,of the engine,, and rebend the oil fill spout straight up,, everything else on the 6 cyl cleared the rails,, I am also intending on using the H bolster, with the H radiator,, but am deciding on 460 sheet metal ha ha,, I am sorry for rambling,, but I am excited,, I am taking pictures as I go.. Chads

I don't think you will have to balance the flywheel. I'm sure that both motors are internally balanced. Did you have the rear plate for the 460 motor? Every tractor from that frame size will fit. H all the way up to the 686. If you need a 460 plate I would have one. You will have to redrill the flywheel and make it work. I always wanted to put a DT466 into an M or SMTA.

460 flywheel worked in the H housing,, had to machine it for the H starter ring,, turns over good,, I used the H back plate,, It is a 403 combine engine,, Got any sheet metal for a 460? ChadS

Did you really think this through before you started? Isn't a 460 pretty much a 350 with a truck 6 cylinder in it? I'm sure the 460 would have the stronger updated transmission gears and the H would not. Seems like a lot of work for less tractor.

Just do it!! I learn as I go,, LOL,, It is not going to be radical,, maybe 120 hp,, if that,, I know about the H transmissions,, It takes a rebuilt rear end with all new stuff to make it hold,, Already got all that,, ChadS

I agree with the H flywheel,, I think I will rethink that idea,, maybe build a steel flywheel that will be the same dimentions for the H,, but have the 560,, 11 in clutch. I know I can make a H 10 in clutch hold up to 120hp,, but you are right about the safety issue, ChadS

Can't wait to see the pictures. I do have a couple of comments though - do you plan on using this tractor for pulling? If so you may want to re-think your use of the H flywheel and clutch. In pulling implements with my H, I don't feel that the clutch even has enough holding power for the original engine at times. Just my $0.02 worth...
